Well you give and you give and you don’t stop givin’
Is this really the way other folks are livin’
You can’t figure it out cause it don’t make sense
It’s just life under the influence

Criticism always has the floor
Till your mind is locked up in absence

There’s help out there just a phone call away
Cause what you need right now is a chaos break
He says not today, I’m feeling spent
It’s just life under the influence
 
     There but for the grace of GOD go I
 
Don’t look to me for any kind of answer
It’s stronger, more wicked than your worst kind of cancer
You pray and you pray for abstinence
It’s just life under the influence
 
Well I ain’t  gonn’a preach and I ain’t  gonn’a judge
Cause even if I did, he wouldn’t budge
It would only be met with defiance
It’s just life under the influence
 
He promises soon it’ll be OK
Maybe this time it’s gonn’a stay
That’s when comes the violence
